Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose a spreader bar hammock or a classic hammock?

Spreader bar hammocks (like the Alisio) hang more tautly, with wooden bars that hold the fabric open and flat. Classic hammocks (like the Brisa, Flora and Modesta) wrap around you in the traditional "hug," take up less space, and are less prone to tipping, which makes them popular with families with children.

Does a Double hammock fit two people?

Yes. Our Double hammocks fit one or two people and hold about 355 lbs. For families or anyone who wants more room, choose King-Size, which holds about 440 lbs.

Which hammock is best for kids and families?

A classic (non-spreader bar) hammock. It cradles the body and is less prone to tipping than a spreader bar style. For the most room, choose King-Size. For a seat made just for kids, see the Joki Kids Hanging Nest.

What's the difference between Weather-Resistant and Organic Cotton?

Weather-Resistant styles use a durable performance fiber that dries quickly and resists fading, mold and mildew. Organic Cotton styles are softer and more breathable, made from GOTS-certified organic cotton, and are best for covered spaces.

Can I leave my hammock outside?

Weather-resistant styles like the Brisa are designed for permanent outdoor use and stand up to sun and rain. Organic cotton styles are made for indoor or sheltered outdoor spaces. Avoid leaving them in prolonged direct sun or rain, and store them dry when not in use.

Which stand fits my hammock?

Match the stand to your hammock size. The Nautico (steel) and Maera (eucalyptus) stands come in Single, Double and King-Size. For hammock chairs, choose the Amura or Arcada stand.

How fast will my hammock ship?

Most La Siesta hammocks, chairs and stands typically ship in 3-5 business days. FlexMount suspension sets ship in 1-2 weeks.

How much space do I need to hang a hammock?

For a classic hammock, leave at least this much between anchor points: Single 8 ft 10 in, Double 10 ft 2 in, King-Size 11 ft 10 in. Hang it at roughly half that distance in height. A spreader bar hammock needs a span equal to its full length.

WARRANTY

All La Siesta products have a two-year manufacturer warranty and are guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship. We will gladly replace any La Siesta item that has been determined to have a manufacturing defect within 2 years of original purchase. All La Siesta products are designed to withstand normal outdoor and recreational use. We do not warranty against normal wear and tear. To prevent excessive weathering, we recommend storing our products indoors when not in active use.

Care & Maintenance

For Organic Cotton and Polypropylene Hammocks: Machine wash at no more than 86°F (30°C) using a gentle cycle and mild detergent. Remove any wooden spreader bar and tie the suspension cords together before washing to help prevent tangling. Air dry completely; do not tumble dry, as high heat may affect the fabric. General Care: Make sure the hammock swings freely without running on the ground to prevent damage. Always follow the included care instructions for the specific product. To help extend the life of your hammock or hanging chair, protect it from prolonged exposure to severe weather and store it in a dry, protected space during the off-season or whenever it will not be used for an extended period. Ensure the product is fully dry before storing. For Organic Cotton and Polypropylene Hammocks: Machine wash at no more than 86°F (30°C) using a gentle cycle and mild detergent.
