Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a stand?

Only if you don't have sturdy, load-bearing anchor points: two trees, posts or beams for a hammock, or one beam or ceiling point for a hammock chair. Suspension sets save space; stands work anywhere, including spots where you can't drill, and are easy to move.

Can I hang my hammock or hammock chair without a stand?

Yes. FlexMount suspension sets mount to walls, ceilings, beams or trees: FlexMount 2point for hammocks, FlexMount 1point for hammock chairs. Walls and ceilings must be solid masonry, or drywall with wooden studs.

How much weight can it hold?

Single hammocks hold about 265 lbs, Doubles about 355 lbs and King-Size about 440 lbs. Basic and Comfort hammock chairs hold 285 lbs, and King-Size chairs hold 355 lbs. Stands and suspension sets have their own ratings, listed on each product page.

How fast will my hammock ship?

Most La Siesta hammocks, chairs and stands typically ship in 3-5 business days. FlexMount suspension sets ship in 1-2 weeks.

What warranty comes with La Siesta products?

All La Siesta products have a two-year manufacturer warranty against defects in material and workmanship.

How much space do I need to hang a hammock?

For a classic hammock, leave at least this much between anchor points: Single 8 ft 10 in, Double 10 ft 2 in, King-Size 11 ft 10 in. Hang it at roughly half that distance in height. A spreader bar hammock needs a span equal to its full length.

WARRANTY

All La Siesta products have a two-year manufacturer warranty and are guaranteed to be free from defects in material and workmanship. We will gladly replace any La Siesta item that has been determined to have a manufacturing defect within 2 years of original purchase. All La Siesta products are designed to withstand normal outdoor and recreational use. We do not warranty against normal wear and tear. Fading and weathering due to prolonged exposure to the sun, rain, snow, and high humidity are not covered by our warranty policy. To prevent excessive weathering, we recommend storing our products indoors when not in active use.

Care & Maintenance

Tree/Pole Suspension Sets: Periodically inspect all ropes, carabiners, and hooks for signs of wear or fraying. During the off-season or extended periods of bad weather, detach these components and store them in a cool, dry place to prevent premature material degradation and UV damage. CasaMount (Wall/Ceiling Anchors): The anchor itself is designed to remain permanently installed. To protect your investment, simply unhook your hammock or chair during the off-season or during prolonged bad weather. Periodically check the mounting screws to ensure they remain flush and tight against the wall or ceiling. In addition, inspect all ropes, carabiners, and hooks for signs of wear or fraying. General Maintenance: Clean synthetic components with mild soapy water and a soft cloth; allow to air dry completely. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, as these can weaken the material fibers. Always refer to your specific product manual for detailed installation requirements and weight-capacity guidelines.
