Material Excellence
Every material used in outdoor furniture can be found at every imaginable quality level, as most consumers have learned the hard way with other products. The lowest quality products, usually sold in discount stores and large online sites, will usually be lightweight, fragile, scaled-down, poorly made, badly designed, and/or non-weatherproof--and this is true no matter which material is used: wicker can be thin, fragile, and unattractive, or it can be strong, durable, and stylish. Metal can be thin and bendable, poorly finished or otherwise susceptible to rust, or it can be made of high quality metal or alloys with finishes paints that last. Teak ranges in quality from wood that isn’t even authentic “tectonis grandis” to genuine but lower grade teak – only Grade A teak from top plantations is used in resort-grade furniture.
